Testimonials from Auburn University (AU) Clients

My name is Dori Wilkerson, I cannot begin to describe the amazing experience I had while on a service-learning trip to Tanzania this summer. I was given the opportunity to come to Dar es Salaam through Auburn University alongside 25 other students and professors. While the purpose of our trip was community service, the vendor Wabash Tours Ltd. made our time in Tanzania feel like a vacation by welcoming us with open arms and making sure we were comfortable. For most of us on the trip, this was this first time on the continent or even out of the country. The Wabash Tours provided safe transportation and were very friendly and accommodating. If we ever needed a detour, they did not hesitate to make it happen. We also had trouble with our hotel check out time and they were kind enough to keep us occupied until our flight later that day. Aside from the drivers, the food provided was also delicious and accommodating. A few of us had allergy restrictions and strict diets and we were always given options, but also allowed to taste local food. In terms of the trips to Bagamoyo and Zanzibar, the tour guides were friendly and very informative. They spoke clearly and if they felt we didn’t understand they made sure to further clarify. We were able to see how the community lived and speak with those within the community and they stayed nearby and gave advice when needed. The Wabash Tours Ltd. have made my experience on the trip everything I could’ve dreamed of and more. I was safe, able to see Tanzania in multiple areas, and surrounded around positivity and love. I could tell from the moment we got off the airport that we were going to be taken care and treated like family, and we got nothing less of that. If you are deciding on which vendor to choose for your trip to Tanzania and other Africa countries and happen to come across this review, do not think twice and include them on your trip!!

Testimonials From Our AU Clients

This trip has truly been so special. I felt as though Wabash Tours ensured an overall great experience in my first trip to Tanzania. Giraffe Hotel, where Wabash accommodated AU faculty, students and staff was a wonderful place equipped with a gym, pool, breakfast, and beautiful architecture. This venue supplied us students with an amazing home base to come back to after a long day in Tanzania. The hotel staff were all very kind and never appeared frustrated with students or administrators. I understand there were some unforeseen conflicts at times between the administrators of the trip and the hotel, but from a student’s point of view, I absolutely loved the hotel. The bus drivers were very personable and kind to the students. They ensured that we always made it to our destinations on time and safely. The buses themselves were always clean and students enjoyed the high-quality sound system. I am thankful we had two buses as it allowed us to have more space and for people to choose which bus was better suited for their preferences. Both the Welcome and Farewell Dinner had a wonderful venue paired with satisfactory food. I thoroughly enjoyed the trip to Bagamoyo for the slave trade tour and appreciated the tour guide. Both his depth of knowledge on the area and topic, along with his patience as plans were delayed due to unforeseen circumstances allowed for a stress-free day for students which will be remembered for a lifetime. Overall, the trip was wonderful and would not have been possible without the intricate planning by Wabash tours Ltd, and I am extremely thankful for them!
